How it works

PainGraph clusters semantically similar posts and comments. OpportunityScore ranks them with transparent weights.

Collect

Reddit, Hacker News, GitHub Issues—fresh every 6 hours. Handles rate limits and stores raw data for reprocessing.

Cluster (PainGraph)

Semantic dedupe with embeddings + ANN. DBSCAN/HDBSCAN locally merges near-duplicates. All source links are preserved.

Rank (Opportunity Score v1)

Frequency 30% • Severity 30% • Engagement 20% • Author Diversity 20%. Tune weights; scores are explainable.

FAQ

How do you rank opportunities?

Opportunity Score v1 combines Frequency (30%), Severity (30%), Engagement (20%), and Author Diversity (20%). We normalize each factor and keep weights transparent.

What sources do you monitor?

Reddit (targeted subs), Hacker News (Ask/Show), and GitHub Issues to start. More sources—Product Hunt, forums—on the roadmap.

How do you deduplicate?

We embed title + content with sentence-transformers (MiniLM-L6-v2), use ANN to find neighbors, then DBSCAN/HDBSCAN to cluster similar posts. We keep every source link.

Privacy and PII?

We process public data only. We can hash handles in stored records. Opt-outs and platform ToS are respected.

Export/API?

CSV/JSON export at launch; full API access in Pro. Webhooks and Slack alerts for high-value spikes.

Will this spam me?

No. Alerts are throttled and respect quiet hours. Default cap: 5/day above a configurable score threshold.
